Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus. GA for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Intermediate English and Spanish editorial skills (grammar, effective communications, etc.)
Ability to read, write, and translate Spanish to English and English to Spanish

Education & Experience Required
Two years of translation or professional level experience
Speak, read, and write fluently in both Spanish and English; experience translating written communications from English to Spanish and Spanish to English
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Acts as a liaison between internal/external clients and the department, maintain effective working relationships and coordinate the mass production of assigned materials; advises clients on all phases of materials/communications development, including concept creation, proofreading, editing, and finding solutions for communicating complex issues; determine the relevance of change or general information to keep documentation current; prepares documentation or provides advice and direction to clients on the appropriate format, concept, and distribution or approval process for documentation
Manage larger projects with the ability to exercise independent action and decision making by providing translations or interpretations of written and/oral communications of the Spanish/English language; take ownership in certifying the accuracy and validity of the work being performed; translates/edits Spanish-language sales support documents and advertising, legal, training, compliance, and client services materials used externally and internally; reviews and approves all Spanish-language print materials, including documents requiring reprints; Coordinates with vendor the issuing of the Department of Insurance state required Certificate of Translations
Facilitates the development, design, and production of a variety of communications products for the division or the organization in accordance with relevant missions, objectives, directives, and policies, including internal/external announcements, product updates, technical and administrative correspondence, system/product/process documentation, project plans and proposals, training manuals, etc.; devises and implements systems to ensure accurate and timely communication, documentation, and archiving of information
Translate and/or create product or non-product materials or forms in Adobe InDesign by inserting Spanish text into the InDesign file; on occasions, the InDesign file may require Translator to design pages or create visual layouts; can also include multiple pages, have layouts that combine text and images or pages containing significant amounts of texts
Maintains a variety of logs, records, and files of translations and approvals; operates a personal computer and peripheral equipment using modern software, including word processing and data input
Relay the style and tone of the original language; Render spoken messages accurately, quickly, and clearly
Performs other related duties and special projects as required
