About the Role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Canadian BU team and finance for day-to-day financial matters.
Assist in building and managing the BU’s annual budget and quarterly forecasts for GATE, Shared Services, and Corporate leaders.
Support the review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, helping identify and explain material variances.
Help monitor progress toward BU financial targets and provide insights to ensure alignment with objectives.
Support GATE Ramco implementation.
Participate in month-end close activities related to the BU. Prepare journal entries as required.
Prepare and update financial presentations (BU Deck) for monthly and quarterly reviews.
Identify risks, opportunities, and timing impacts, and communicate insights to senior leaders
Assist in analyzing business trends and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
Assist in year-end audits by providing accounting team required documentation for auditors and insight on results.
Work closely with accounting to strengthen month-end processes, timelines, and data accuracy.
Respond to ad hoc requests from managers with agility and analytical insight.
Participate in various continuous improvement projects, helping to enhance the performance and efficiency of the FP&A department.
Represents the VP/CFO in his/her normal course of business to ensure proper Governance and ensuring Company Policies and Procedures are followed and adhered to.
Works towards continuous work stream improvements, precision and alignment to CFO Goals & objectives.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field required;
10 years relevant work experience in a similar type role, financial analyst/finance business partner
Experience in overseeing preparation and ownership of budgets and forecasts an asset.
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Detailed oriented with a high degree of professionalism and strong business acumen
Sold work ethic, results oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and consistently deliver on time with a high degree of accuracy
Proven ability to work cooperatively within a team environment to achieve shared goals
Sound judgment and high standard of ethics required
Highly proficient in MS Excel
Experience with aviation ERP and Oracle planning tool an asset
