About the Role

An aerospace technology company developing autonomous unmanned systems for public safety and defense applications. The company specializes in advanced flight control systems, real-time video transmission, autonomous navigation, and sensor integration for law enforcement, firefighting, search and rescue, and tactical operations serving agencies nationwide.

The Principal Engineer will define system architectures for autonomous drone platforms, lead cross-functional engineering teams, and drive technical strategy from concept through production. Responsibilities include requirements development, design reviews, technology roadmap planning, and providing technical leadership including risk management, trade studies, vendor selection, and supporting flight testing and certification.

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering PE license or equivalent industry certifications preferred 12+ years of aerospace systems engineering experience Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA) and analysis software Strong understanding of FAA Part 107, flight dynamics, and airworthiness Experience with UAV propulsion, avionics, and payload systems Excellent technical leadership and program management skills
  • Experience with defense or public safety drone programs Knowledge of autonomous flight systems and computer vision Security clearance or clearance eligibility
