About the Role
<p><strong>Senior Veterinary Surgeon – Leadership Opportunity – West Midlands – Up to £65,000</strong></p>
<p>Are you a positive small animal vet with a growth mindset, ready to take the next step into a leadership role? A well-established, independently run small animal practice in the West Midlands is seeking a Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join and support their experienced clinical team.</p>
<p><strong>The Practice</strong><br />
This is a long-standing, locally owned small animal practice with a strong reputation in the community. The team is led by highly experienced veterinary surgeons, supported by a skilled nursing team and a dedicated support function including client care and practice management.</p>
<p>The practice benefits from a varied caseload, with a high proportion of insured clients, allowing for excellent clinical work-ups and continuity of care. Facilities are well-equipped, including advanced surgical and diagnostic tools such as laparoscopic equipment, endoscopy, dental x-ray, and orthopaedic kit.</p>
<p>They are committed to delivering high-quality clinical care and are actively working towards advanced clinical standards, including pain management accreditation.</p>
<p><strong>The Role</strong><br />
This is a key senior position within the practice, combining clinical work with leadership responsibilities. You will play an integral role in supporting and guiding the wider team, including mentoring less experienced vets.</p>

<li>Full-time role with a structured and well-managed diary
<li>Dedicated surgical day each week
<li>15-minute consults, with longer appointments available where needed
<li>Regular catch-up slots and protected admin time built into the day
<li>1 in 3 Saturdays (consulting only, sole charge)
<li>No Sundays
<li>Bank holidays on a rota

<p>Flexibility is offered, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance, including a regular weekday off and structured finish times.</p>

<li>Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
<li>Confident with routine surgery and general practice
<li>Keen to take on leadership and mentoring responsibilities

<li>Interest in developing clinical interests (certificates supported)
