We are seeking a Locums Neurosurgeon to join a collaborative
surgical team in Sacramento, California. In this role, the physician will
provide neurosurgical consultation and surgical care for acute cases presenting
through the Emergency Department or transfer center.
The position focuses primarily on inpatient consultative services,
with involvement in trauma and urgent neurosurgical cases. The physician will
work closely with experienced emergency physicians, hospitalists, and a
well-supported ICU team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Compensation: $3000 Per day
Key Responsibilities
Provide
neurosurgical consultations for inpatient and acute admissions
Manage trauma
and urgent neurosurgical cases as needed
Perform
neurosurgical procedures when clinically indicated
Collaborate with
emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, and ICU teams
Maintain high
standards of patient safety and quality care
Communicate
effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
Schedule & Coverage
Locum tenens
coverage with a predictable schedule
2 weeks per
month (approximately 26 weeks per year)
Coverage may
include consultative services and surgical procedures
Opportunity to
perform both elective and emergency neurosurgical cases
Qualifications
MD or DO from an
accredited medical school
Board Certified
or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
Active California
medical license or ability to obtain
Strong
communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
Ability to work
collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
