About the Role

Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be working with a Top 20 accountancy and business advisory firm to recruit an Audit Manager for their growing Liverpool city centre office.

The Role

As Audit Manager, you will take ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion, working closely with Senior Managers and Directors. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring audits are delivered to a high technical standard while managing budgets, timelines and team performance.

You will also play a key role in developing junior team members, providing day-to-day guidance, feedback and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audit assignments, ensuring delivery to time, budget and quality standards

  • Act as the main client contact throughout the audit process, responding to queries and maintaining strong relationships

  • Supervise, review and develop junior team members on engagements

  • Prepare and manage audit budgets, monitoring progress and addressing variances

  • Take responsibility for billing, time recording and engagement profitability

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant auditing and accounting standards

  • Promote a positive, collaborative team culture

  • Liaise with Directors to ensure alignment with departmental objectives

  • Support with administrative and ad-hoc tasks to ensure smooth engagement delivery

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Strong audit and accounts experience within a professional practice environment

  • Good understanding of audit quality, compliance and regulatory standards

  • Experience with risk assessment and audit controls

  • Confident managing, coaching and developing junior staff

  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards (FRS & IFRS)

  • Experience with CCH and Inflo is advantageous, though full training will be provided
