Job Summary: The Maintenance Planner manages the planning of work within the respective department. The primary purpose of this role is to plan prioritized work, including the generation of kits where appropriate, generate new PM’s and revisions of existing PM’s, procure parts, tools, equipment and facilitate parts repairs, plan outages and document performance.
Responsibilities
Plan work orders, giving manpower requirements, safety instructions, and task descriptions that ensure safe and efficient execution of all planned maintenance jobs
Acquire proper parts, tools, and equipment for each job and stage them as appropriate
Acquire prints, OEM and other documentation required to define the work
Oversee the kitting of parts for planned and scheduled jobs as appropriate
Review output of daily work order prioritization meeting for new jobs to add to the Planning backlog. Update new work orders and move to proper planning code
Advise the maintenance scheduler by reviewing the backlog and grouping work orders together that can be planned and worked as a single job
Developing and implementing maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
Identifying maintenance requirements and coordinating with vendors to procure necessary equipment and spare parts.
Providing technical support to production teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions.
Ensure Planning backlog is current and all jobs are valid and up-to-date
Ensure accurate job plans exist for high-frequency jobs
Continually update job plans and preventative maintenance items to ensure necessary changes or improvements are incorporated, and efficiencies are captured
Forward completely “Ready to Schedule” jobs to the Maintenance Scheduler
Open and plan PM-generated work orders
Update equipment parts catalog as required
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Bachelors Degree in Industrial Maintenance or related field preferred
5+ Years of industrial maintenance experience required
3 + Years of Maintenance Job Planning or Scheduling is required
2 + Years’ experience within aluminum or steel or heavy process manufacturing operation running 24/7 preferred
Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Familiarity with maintenance management software and systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
