<p><strong>Senior Environment Concept Artist (Remote/Permanent)</strong></p><p><strong>Beffio Studio –</strong> <a target="_blank" href="https://www.beffio.com/">https://www.beffio.com</a><br><strong>Job Type:</strong> Permanent / Remote<br><strong>Location:</strong> European Union Countries</p><h3>Position Overview</h3><p>We are looking for a Senior Environment Concept Artist who excels at designing stylized worlds with strong atmosphere, mood, and visual storytelling for our AA and AAA game projects.</p><p>In this role, you will:</p><ul><li><p>Design environments that communicate story, emotion, and identity through shape, color, and composition</p></li><li><p>Build cohesive stylized worlds that feel intentional, immersive, and memorable</p></li><li><p>Work closely with Art Directors to translate narrative and gameplay needs into clear visual environments</p></li></ul><p>This is a senior, hands-on role within a fully remote and collaborative studio environment.</p><hr><h3>Responsibilities</h3><p><strong>Stylized Environment Design</strong></p><ul><li><p>Design stylized environments that establish mood, atmosphere, and visual identity</p></li><li><p>Create key locations, landmarks, and environment themes that support narrative and gameplay</p></li><li><p>Use shape language and stylization to simplify complexity while enhancing readability</p></li></ul><p><strong>World-Building & Visual Storytelling</strong></p><ul><li><p>Translate narrative context and world lore into visual environment concepts</p></li><li><p>Design spaces that suggest history, function, and emotion through visual cues</p></li><li><p>Create environments that guide the player through composition, scale, and focal points</p></li></ul><p><strong>Composition, Color & Atmosphere</strong></p><ul><li><p>Use composition, lighting, and color to define mood and emotional tone</p></li><li><p>Explore variations to refine environment identity and visual clarity</p></li><li><p>Establish consistent visual language across environments within a project</p></li></ul><p><strong>Production-Ready Environment Concepts</strong></p><ul><li><p>Deliver clear, readable environment concepts suitable for 3D production</p></li><li><p>Communicate materials, scale, and structural logic effectively</p></li><li><p>Support environment artists with visual guidance and clarification when needed</p></li></ul><p><strong>Collaboration & Iteration</strong></p><ul><li><p>Work closely with Art Directors, Leads, and Producers</p></li><li><p>Iterate on concepts based on feedback, gameplay requirements, and production constraints</p></li><li><p>Communicate design intent clearly within a remote, agile workflow</p></li></ul><hr><h3>Requirements</h3><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul><li><p>6+ years of professional experience as an Environment Concept Artist</p></li><li><p>Experience working on stylized AA or AAA game projects</p></li></ul><p><strong>Portfolio</strong></p><ul><li><p>Strong portfolio focused on stylized environment concept art</p></li><li><p>Clear examples of mood, atmosphere, composition, and world-building</p></li><li><p>Work demonstrating narrative-driven environment design</p></li></ul><p><strong>Design Skills</strong></p><ul><li><p>Excellent understanding of shape language, scale, and spatial design</p></li><li><p>Strong sense of color, lighting, and atmospheric storytelling</p></li><li><p>Ability to balance artistic expression with functional game spaces</p></li></ul><p><strong>Software & Workflow</strong></p><ul><li><p>Proficiency in industry-standard 2D concept art tools</p></li><li><p>Basic 3D skills for blockouts or layout exploration are a strong plus</p></li></ul><p><strong>Communication & Remote Work</strong></p><ul><li><p>Fluent English</p></li><li><p>Comfortable working fully remote using Slack, Jira, and Notion</p></li></ul><hr><h3>Bonus Skills</h3><ul><li><p>Ability to concept environments directly in 3D</p></li><li><p>Experience defining or co-defining stylized environment art direction</p></li><li><p>Strong interest in world-building and narrative-driven environments</p></li></ul><hr><h3>What We Offer</h3><ul><li><p>Stylized AA and AAA game projects with strong artistic identity</p></li><li><p>Fully remote work with core collaboration hours between 10:00 and 15:00 CET</p></li><li><p>Stable full-time role with flexible contract options</p></li><li><p>High creative influence over environment design</p></li><li><p>Collaborative, experienced, and design-driven studio culture</p></li><li><p>Competitive compensation and paid vacation</p></li><li><p>Annual team retreats</p></li></ul><hr><h3>Ready to Build Stylized Worlds with Atmosphere and Story?</h3><p>Send us your portfolio and a short introduction.
