About the Role
<p><strong>Hybrid working | Flexible working pattern including 4-day week option</strong></p>
<p>We are partnering with a large, well-established organisation to recruit a Senior HR Adviser to join a busy operational site. This is a key role within the wider People function, supporting day-to-day HR delivery while also contributing to broader people initiatives that drive performance, engagement, and culture.</p>
<p>This is a highly visible, hands-on position where you will work closely with site leaders and managers to provide practical HR support and help shape a positive, high-performing working environment.</p>
<p>The role offers hybrid working, with 1–2 days per week from home, along with the option to work a four-day week arrangement.</p>
<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build strong, trusted relationships with operational leaders to understand priorities and support delivery of the people agenda</li>
<li>Act as a first point of contact for managers, providing clear and pragmatic HR advice across a broad range of people matters</li>
<li>Manage and support employee relations cases including absence, conduct, grievance and performance issues, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes</li>
<li>Analyse HR data and people metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement</li>
<li>Coach and support managers in developing effective people management capability</li>
<li>Support workforce planning activity and organisational change within operational teams</li>
<li>Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and help foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with employee representatives and support consultation processes where required</li>
<li>Support recruitment activity, including workforce planning and talent pipeline development</li>
<li>Ensure performance management processes are embedded effectively and completed within required timelines</li>
<li>Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement activity across the site and wider organisation</li>
<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and ensure compliance across all HR activity</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in a generalist HR role within a fast-paced operational environment</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of core HR disciplines including employee relations, performance management, engagement and workforce planning</li>
<li>Confident managing employee relations casework and advising managers on complex and sensitive issues</li>
<li>Ability to interpret HR data and use insight to support practical decision-making</li>
<li>Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to challenge constructively at all levels</li>
<li>Highly organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload effectively</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable Criteria</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>CIPD qualified or working towards</li>
<li>Experience within a unionised environment</li>
<li>Exposure to learning and development or talent initiatives</li>
<li>Familiarity with HR systems and reporting tools</li>
