Senior Building Surveyor (MRICS)London | £50,000 - £90,000 | Flexible WorkingAre you an experienced Building Surveyor looking for a role where you can genuinely own your work, build real client relationships, and apply your expertise across a diverse and interesting caseload? This could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.The RoleWe're looking for a confident, commercially aware Senior Building Surveyor to join our team and hit the ground running. You'll work with a high degree of autonomy, taking full responsibility for a varied portfolio of instructions - from complex construction projects through to specialist professional work.Your day-to-day will span a broad range of disciplines, including:Contract Administration on larger construction and refurbishment projectsExpert witness reports and representationBoundary disputes and party wall mattersProject management across residential and commercial schemesDefect investigations and reportsLicence for Alterations (LCOAs) and dilapidationsThis is not a siloed role. You'll be expected and trusted to lead from the front on client-facing instructions, managing relationships with leaseholders, freeholders, and property managers directly.About YouYou're MRICS qualified and bring substantial post-qualification experience from a private practice or consultancy background. You're comfortable working independently, making decisions, and taking ownership ,you don't need hand-holding, and you'd rather have the freedom to get on with it.You'll ideally bring:Strong construction knowledge and a thorough understanding of building pathologyProven experience as a Contract Administrator on significant projectsConfidence handling professional work including party wall, expert witness and dispute mattersA track record of working directly with clients in a consultancy or private practice settingThe ability to manage your own caseload efficiently and professionallyCandidates with a background primarily in local authority roles may find this position less suitable, given the client-facing and construction-focused nature of the work.What We OfferSalary: £50,000 - £90,000 depending on experienceFlexible working arrangementsA genuinely varied and stimulating caseloadReal autonomy and the ability to make your markA collaborative, professional environment where your expertise is valued
