Material Support Supervisor Company Name:  MHI RJ Aviation Inc Location:  Bridgeport, WV, US, 26330 Job Description:  MHI RJ Aviation Group (MHIRJ) is the merging of two important heritages: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and the CRJ Series program. We provide comprehensive critical operational, engineering and customer support solutions including maintenance, refurbishment, technical publications, marketing and sales activities for the global regional aircraft industry.   We’re hiring a Material Support Supervisor to help drive our continued success!    Purpose of the role:   MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Material Support Supervisor will administer the material handling, scheduling, and purchasing of aircraft parts, components, materials, and services to ensure a continuous flow and meet program and customer demand for assigned area and site(s). This will include shipping and receiving as well as CR&O.   Here are the daily responsibilities of a Material Support Supervisor: Perform supervisor responsibilities and recommend related actions, for example, hire/fire, disciplinary actions, PMP, training and certifications, work assignments, scheduling vacation, and monitoring attendance Monitor sustaining activities, projects, and levels of customer service (e.g., performance metrics) and report status, issues, and risks to management on a scheduled basis Meet with vendors and carriers to negotiate contract items, for example, price, delivery, quality, and quantity Administer vendor and carrier contracts to ensure provision of agreed upon service(s) and/or product(s) Coordinate with other departments to resolve problems concerning delivery, component discrepancies, and lead times with internal and external suppliers Work cross functionally with buyer/planner functions Perform special projects concerning, for example, inventory, vendor issues, and day sales of inventory (DSI) Meet with vendors and carriers to discuss and resolve performance issues, for example, delivery, quality, and quantity Facilitate team efforts to resolve complex inventory discrepancies to determine root causes of inventory discrepancies and develop recommendations for corrective action Review, revise, and/or develop processes and guidelines in support of material handling operations Perform quarterly and annual reviews May represent department during manager’s absence Possible multi-site function With managerial oversight develops policies and procedures for Stores facilities Acts as liaison between Materials and Finance to validate month end account activities Toolroom tool control (Calibrated and Non-Calibrated) multi-site Inventory Control i.e. cycle count, Days sales inventory (DSI)   Here is what is required to succeed:   Typically, 5+ years of experience in warehouse, stockroom, and/or material handling role Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related field OR additional equivalent work experience Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, inventory management, and web-based applications Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned areas and employees within a multiple project setting Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments, customers, vendors, and management Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application Thorough knowledge of Repair Station System inventory process, cycle count, perpetual and work-in-progress inventory audits Thorough knowledge of Internal, Federal, State, and local regulations pertaining to proper packaging for transporting of hazardous materials Working knowledge of FAA, JAA, TC, EASA and DOT regulations applicable to export shipments Effective verbal / written communication and presentation skills EmPower MX/SAP Experience is preferred Work Environment:   We put safety first and take pride in creating workspaces that invite collaboration and innovation. Position requires full-time presence at our Bridgeport, WV facility with on-site collaboration essential to role success. Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends.
