About the Role
<p><strong>Mid-Level Web Developer</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Cleckheaton</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> £32,000 - £35,000 + Discretionary Performance Bonus Scheme</p><p><strong>Hours:</strong> 9am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday (1 hour lunch) - 37.5 Hours per Week</p><p><strong>Benefits:</strong> 20+8 Holiday, Increasing with Service, Xmas shutdown (5 Days to be Reserved), Private Healthcare after Probation, Potential Hybrid Opportunity after Probation. </p><p>We are working with a leading business who are working with some of the country's biggest organisations to provide high-quality solutions. As a growing business, our client requires a team player who can contribute to their growing team to support the ongoing development, maintenance and improvement of the web applications in use. </p><p>Stafflex are seeking a mid-level Developer who will report to a Lead Web Developer, but have a strong preexisting foundation in the Web Development space. You'll work closely with designers, developers, and the wider business, contributing to both back and front end development in a varied and fast paced environment. </p><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Laravel</strong> </span>experience is essential for this position. Base-level knowledge is acceptable, as structured learning and on-site training is available. </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Assist in developing and maintaining web applications using Laravel</li><li>Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript</li><li>Supporting front-end development, ensuring responsive, user-friendly interfaces</li><li>Working with WordPress on new and existing projects</li><li>Collaborating with designers and senior developers on new features</li><li>Debugging and troubleshooting issues across browsers and devices</li><li>Ensuring cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness</li><li>Contributing to code reviews and development best practice</li><li>Meeting project deadlines and working effectively as part of a small team</li><li>Supporting other areas of business where required</li></ul><p><strong>Key Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Practical experience with Laravel (routing, controllers, Blade templates)</li><li>Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (including jQuery)</li><li>Good working knowledge of WordPress</li><li>Experience using Git or other version control systems</li><li>Basic database knowledge (e.g. MySQL)</li><li>Experience building responsive designs using frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind</li><li>Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset</li><li>Basic understanding of tool such as Photoshop</li><li>Experience with Vue.js, React or other JavaScript frameworks would be a bonus</li><li>Understanding of SEO best practice</li><li>Cross-browser testing and debugging experience</li><li>Exposure to Linux environments or Windows Subsystem for Lynux</li></ul><p>If you are looking for a role in a dedicated and supportive environment, this could be the role for you!
