About the Role
Customs Agent<br>Location: EMG<br>Pay: £29,000 - £31,000 annually <br>Hours:11:30am - 07:00pm<br>────────────────────────────────────────<br>THE ROLE<br>We are looking for a Customs Agent to join our clients Road Logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customs-related exceptions and supporting the smooth movement of shipments through customs processes.<br>You will work closely with internal teams, customers and relevant stakeholders to identify, investigate and resolve customs issues efficiently, while ensuring that processes remain compliant and service levels are maintained.<br>────────────────────────────────────────<br>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<br>• Manage and resolve customs exceptions affecting road logistics shipments.<br>• Investigate customs-related issues and identify the appropriate solutions.<br>• Monitor shipments and follow up on outstanding customs requirements.<br>• Liaise with internal departments, customers and relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.<br>• Ensure customs information and documentation are accurate and complete.<br>• Support the smooth and timely movement of goods through customs processes.<br>• Escalate complex or unresolved issues when required.<br>• Maintain accurate records and provide updates on customs exceptions.<br>• Work in line with relevant customs, compliance and operational procedures.<br>• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce recurring customs exceptions.<br>────────────────────────────────────────<br>ABOUT YOU<br>The successful candidate will be organised, detail-oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.<br>You will be confident dealing with exceptions and resolving problems, while maintaining a professional approach when communicating with customers and colleagues.<br>You should also be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritise your workload and work effectively as part of a wider team.<br>────────────────────────────────────────<br>KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE<br>• Experience in logistics, road transport, customs or a related operational environment.<br>• Strong problem-solving and investigation skills.<br>• Excellent attention to detail.<br>• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.<br>• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple issues.<br>• A strong understanding of the importance of customs compliance and accurate documentation.<br>• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.<br>• Good organisational and time-management skills.<br>• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.<br>────────────────────────────────────────<br>WHAT YOU WILL BRING<br>You will bring a professional and solutions-focused approach to customs exception management.
