About the Role
On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Senior Commercial Officer - Inside IR35 for a 12 month contract working on a Hybrid basis (1/2 days per week in Manchester or Blackpool office and remaining WFH)

Provide effective, efficient, and innovative services to the millions of claimants who rely on us every day, including the most vulnerable in society
Improve experience of our services while maximising value for money for the taxpayer.
Role purpose:
Provide commercial delivery support to the Working Age Service digital and AI Category across a number of key programmes, including Universal Credit, Jobs and Careers Service and AI.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Senior Commercial Officer would be:
Management of pipeline of commercial contracts
Ongoing management of live contracts, including supplier performance, change control, and identifying opportunities for added value.
Design and execution of sourcing strategies
Supplier engagement / market research for specific projects
Delivery of commercial governance document for individual procurements
Engage with DWP stakeholder business delivery teams to gather requirements, support needs and build relationships to enable successful procurements to take place
Engage with wider stakeholders across the business areas including finance, legal, and digital colleagues.
Brief internal CD and wider business stakeholders on commercial activities providing key updates / seeking assurance or decisions to progress.
Running of end-end procurements in line with legislation
Supporting the business in drafting of Statement of Works and providing commercial assurance of these.
Identification, realisation and management of commercial savings against organisational targets
Essential:
Experience in running end to end public sector procurements.
Strong knowledge / experience of PA23 and PCR 2015
Experience of utilising CCS Technology framework e.g. DOS6, GCloud and Tech Services 4.
Desirable:
Experience of Atamis sourcing system
Experience of procuring AI goods and services
