About the Company A large and well-established plant hire company in Maidstone is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy operations team.

Role Overview As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating daily fleet movements, planning efficient routes, supporting drivers, and ensuring all transport activity is carried out safely, legally, and on time.
Key Responsibilities

• Plan and allocate routes for multiple vehicles across Kent and surrounding areas
• Ensure drivers receive the correct job packs, paperwork, and delivery instructions
• Manage and support drivers, including workload and performance
• Maintain full compliance with UK transport legislation and Working Time Directive
• Monitor transport performance and investigate service delays or issues
• Support operational improvements across the transport function

What You Need

• Previous experience as a Transport Planner (plant hire, construction, logistics, or similar background preferred)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage, support, and coordinate drivers effectively
• A Transport Manager CPC is beneficial but not essential
