Exciting Opportunity: Turnaround Specialist III – Lead Critical Plant Revamps with Precision and Expertise
Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for orchestrating complex turnaround projects in industrial settings? We are seeking a highly skilled Turnaround Specialist III to join our dynamic team, responsible for ensuring smooth and safe execution of major turnaround activities focused on rotating equipment, including turbines and compressors. This temporary position offers the chance to lead impactful projects, collaborate with top-tier contractors, and make a tangible difference in maintaining operational excellence.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead all phases of turnaround projects within your assigned area, from detailed planning to successful execution and ongoing improvement.
- Walk down scope, verify materials, capture field images, and accurately input data into planning tools.
- Assist in developing job plans, ensuring scope clarity, resource allocation, and material readiness.
- Coordinate with scheduling, document control, and materials teams to facilitate seamless operations.
- Mobilize into a coordinator role during execution, overseeing contractors, monitoring progress, safety, and productivity.
- Act as a point of communication during rollover meetings, updating project status and resolving obstacles swiftly.
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld at all times, maintaining a safe working environment indoors and outdoors.
- Assist with maintenance and potential capital work assignments as needed, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience with rotating equipment, specifically turbines and compressors.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, work procedures, and safety documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate with teams and stakeholders.
- Skilled in basic computer operations, including MS Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, respond to high-pressure situations, and adapt quickly.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and operate in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work overtime, respond to call-outs, and travel domestically within one hour of the reporting location.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with enterprise planning tools and scheduling logic.
- Previous experience in industrial turnaround planning or project management.
- Additional certifications in safety, rigging, or equipment operation.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical or industrial fields preferred.
- Several years of hands-on experience in plant maintenance, turnaround, or industrial project execution.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically as required.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant work environment.
