We are delighted to support our client in the search for a Project Cost Engineer. Ideally looking for experienced individuals who have worked in a similar position within oil and gas, working for a drilling contractor or an operator.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Managing strong working relationships within the project teams and with internal and external parties.
- Tracking commitments, VOWD, accruals, and forecast costs, ensure accurate coding of requisitions and invoices.
- Preparing daily, weekly and monthly estimated cost reports for projects and input into wider business reporting cycles.
- Completing actuals and estimate to completion costs to date, including variances against budget.
- Collaborating with the Project Planner to align cost and schedule baselines.
- Validating progress measurements and ensure accurate link to cost performance.
- Supporting the development of earned value metrics (CPI, SPI) and analyse variances against plan.
- Monitoring cost trends and provide early warnings for project management.
Applicants to this role require
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry either with a rig contractor or operator.
- Experience in supporting and developing ERP and operational systems.
- Advanced Excel Skills.
- Organised, diligent, and dynamic, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams to ensure successful delivery of our objectives.
- Excellent communications skills with colleagues as well as external stakeholders (ability to engage at all levels).
- Team player and relationship builder.
- Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making.
