We’re seeking a dedicated Field Compressor Operator to oversee the reliable and efficient functioning of natural gas compression systems in Midland, TX. What You’ll Do:
- Operate and monitor natural gas compressors, dehydration units, and related equipment to maintain optimal pressure, flow, and efficiency.
- Perform routine inspections, record readings, and identify irregularities to prevent issues before they impact operations.
- Assist with minor maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems, and escalate repairs as needed.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance while managing safety checks and safety-related reporting.
- Maintain accurate logs of operational data, maintenance activities, and safety checks using digital reporting tools.
Required Skills:
- 2-5 years of experience in gas compression, oil & gas operations, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with rotating equipment, instrumentation, and process controls.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with HMI systems and control room operations.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, H2S Awareness, First Aid/CPR, or DOT Operator Qualification (OQ).
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Proven experience working with natural gas compression systems in a similar environment.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions and in remote locations.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.
