Learning Support Assistant - Harrogate

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join a Pupil Referral Unit setting starting in June 2026 in the Harrogate area to cover on a long-term basis.
This specialist setting supports pupils who require an alternative to mainstream education, focusing on re-engagement, behaviour support and building confidence and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assist in delivering tailored learning activities to support academic progress and engagement
• Implement behaviour management strategies and promote positive relationships within the classroom

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
• Proven experience supporting pupils within a PRU, alternative provision or with challenging behaviour
• Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and student support approaches
• Two education or school-based references
