Overall purpose of the role:
To support the promotion of DRC’s mission, mandate, programmes, and advocacy priorities in the occupied Palestinian territory by working closely with programme, field and advocacy teams to develop clear, accurate, and timely communication materials for relevant audiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communication and visibility support
Contribute to maintaining a regular flow of accurate and engaging content across DRC communication platforms, in line with approved messaging, supporting communication, advocacy and fundraising purposes.
Work closely with programme, advocacy, and field teams in Gaza and Ramallah, as well as local partner organizations, to support the development of visibility and communication materials aligned with DRC priorities.
Produce visual content reflecting the oPt mission’s activities and achievements, including human-interest stories, success stories, case studies, and social media content.
Assist in the development and production of communication materials such as brochures, newsletters, blogs, stories/lessons learned.
Lead on video and photo production and editing as well as day-to-day management of freelance photographers/videographers as needed and agreed with senior management.
Manage and update DRC visual database ensuring proper metadata, consent forms, and accessibility for future use.
Design and adapt basic visual materials (graphics, photos, short videos) for internal and external communications, in line with DRC branding guidelines.
Support the Advocacy Coordinator in the layout and formatting of policy products, including briefing notes, reports, fact sheets, and presentations.
Support the planning, drafting, and publication of social media content in close coordination with the Global Communications team and the Advocacy Coordinator.
Ensure all communication outputs respect ethical standards, safeguarding principles, and informed consent requirements.
Provide support, training and guidance to the programme teams when they collect communication content (eg. testimonies, photos, videos…). Guidance should comply with global and location-specific safety rules, policies and procedures.
Coordinate with programme teams to support timely communication inputs linked to donor reporting and visibility requirements (FTE 15%).
Media and public engagement
Support the development and maintenance of relationships with national and regional media outlets, under the guidance of the Advocacy Coordinator and global advocacy and communications teams.
Provide background information, content, and materials to media upon request, and support the organisation of media interviews when needed.
Assist the Advocacy Coordinator, Country Director, and other designated spokespersons in preparing for media engagements, including drafting key messages and briefing notes.
Support communications coverage of visits by Global or Senior Leadership, including photo and video collection and assisting with interview preparation and scripting.
About you:
Bachelor’s degree (academic background in communications, journalism, social media or related fields) or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years' experience working in communications and/or advocacy.
Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
Excellent oral and writting skills and demonstrated ability to write and develop strong communication and advocacy materials in Arabic and English.
Have a good working knowledge of social media platforms and be able to manage them well with DRC best interest being priority.
Experience using graphic design programmes to produce basic graphics and images.
Proven experience in video making and photography.
Capacity to navigate challenging, fast-paced environments and manage complex tasks and shifting priorities.
Creativity, motivation, and a flexible attitude, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
