SR. PACKAGING SPECIALIST

Compensation Range: $40 - 47 per hour
We are seeking a Senior Packaging Design Manager with 5+ years of industry expertise to drive the creation of premium, trend-forward brand packaging solutions across a wide variety of product categories (including boxes, hangtags, and labels). In this role, you will act as the creative and operational force from conception to shelf—setting design strategies centered on compelling visual narratives, giving dedicated creative direction to the Accessories category, and influencing design decisions across the entire organization.
You will partner seamlessly with Product Development, Merchandising, Trend Teams, and Divisional Managers to fill lifestyle needs, while collaborating with legal and regulatory teams to ensure trademark and compliance requirements are met. As a leader, you will prioritize and direct a team of designers, freelancers, and contractors, manage the end-to-end packaging photography process, and confidently present sophisticated design pitches to executive leadership. Additionally, you will establish print, color, and construction quality tolerances with vendors, implement workflow efficiencies, and maintain a strict adherence to timelines and testing to guarantee flawless execution before press and delivery.
This position is hybrid 2x a week between Tuesday-Thursday in Framingham, MA. Please apply if you are able to commute.
 
Responsibilities:

• Oversees the creation of trend forward brand packaging across various categories.
• Partners with product development and merchandising to fill lifestyle needs by product category. Influences the organization on design decisions.
• Partners with the Sr. Product Development Managers, Trend Teams and Divisional Manager to create compelling brand packaging.
• Ensures the quality of the vendor's packaging through an established approval process and ensures all deadlines are met.
• Creates and directs brand packaging for a wide variety of products (boxes, hangtags, labels, etc).
• Prioritizes and directs designers, freelancers, interns and/or contractors in design and content creation.
• Follow-through from conception to shelf - providing approvals and overseeing successful execution of all components before press and delivery.
• Communicate with product development and regulatory teams throughout the design process, including reviewing and proofing packaging.
• Maintains a strict adherence to T&A and deadlines. Establishes parameters of acceptable tolerances in print/color/construction while developing and implementing methods to improve efficiencies.
• Manages the photography and photography requirements for packages. Directs styling, ensures photo quality, content, and that timeline requirements are met.
• Partners with legal and trademark administrator in researching new brand names, and ensures all legal/trademark requirements are met.
• Packaging Excellence & Innovation: Utilize 5+ years of industry expertise to produce premium packaging designs centered on creative layouts and compelling visual narratives.
• Trend & Accessory Alignment: Develop and implement design strategies that reflect modern trends and offer dedicated creative direction for the Accessories category.
• Internal Partnership: Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to maintain brand integrity and ensure project cohesion across the organization.
• Senior-Level Presentations: Conceptualize and present sophisticated design pitches to executive leadership, clearly explaining the creative vision and business logic.
• Self-Directed & Collaborative Execution: Manage the full project lifecycle independently while thriving within a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Qualifications:

• Industry Experience: At least 5 years of dedicated experience in the packaging sector.
• Design Proficiency: Exceptional talent in graphic layout, creative conceptualization, and visual aesthetics.
• Executive Presence: Proven track record of delivering effective presentations to senior management.
• Core Competencies: Detail-oriented and highly organized with a natural ability to interface with internal partners and contribute to a team.
• Preferred Assets: Prior experience working with licensed brands is considered a significant advantage.
