An East London Council is seeking an experienced Interim Programme Manager to support its Residential Environmental Health service, with a key focus on fire safety remediation in tall residential buildings and improving standards across the Private Rented Sector. This is a high-profile role where you will lead and deliver multiple projects, drive inspections and enforcement activity, coordinate complex casework, work closely with legal teams, and help shape the implementation of new housing legislation and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will have proven project management experience within a regulatory, housing, environmental health, or enforcement environment. You will possess strong knowledge of the Private Rented Sector, excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while driving projects through to successful completion. A project management qualification or equivalent experience delivering complex programmes is essential, alongside a proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong risk assessment capabilities.

In return, you will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in improving housing standards, influencing service development, and supporting the delivery of major regulatory initiatives. This contract offers a competitive rate of £394.94 per day, the chance to work on impactful borough-wide programmes, and the opportunity to contribute to safer, better-managed homes for residents across the borough.
