About the Role

Avionics Mechanic – Aircraft Maintenance & Electrical Systems Sirius Staffing is seeking multiple Avionics Mechanics to support a leading aerospace and defense operation in Mobile, Alabama. These are night shift opportunities supporting aircraft electrical and avionics systems maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, installations, and repairs in a fast-paced aviation environment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong aircraft avionics and electrical systems experience looking to join a stable, safety-focused team supporting advanced aviation programs. Night shift schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM - (5/10s) Benefits offered + PTO & Holiday Pay  Key ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including worn or defective assemblies, components, and systemsConduct operational and functional checks on navigation, communication, instrumentation, flight control systems, and pitot static installationsTroubleshoot, repair, rework, and modify malfunctioning components or assemblies; determine when to repair or replace components and decide the necessary repair scheme and parts neededInstall, modify, fabricate, and perform installation of wiring harnesses, avionics equipment, and electrical/electronic systems, components, and assemblies in aircraftInterpret avionics/electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, wire identification, connectors, circuits, cable assemblies, coax cables, and fittingsPerform serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using OEM-specified test equipmentSet up and operate ground support and test equipment for diagnostics and functional testsInterpret flight test data to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problemsUse diagnostic and testing equipment for electrical/electronic systemsComplete maintenance documentation and work packages accurately, with sign-off after finishing all designated operationsFollow approved maintenance procedures, consulting internal procedures and FAA-approved technical dataSuggest improvements to processes and proceduresPerform preventive maintenance functions as directedAdvise operators and line mechanics on safe procedures for working with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment; inform management of potential problems and inherent dangersAssist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting; assist and train other maintenance/technical employeesMaintain all hangar and shop tools and equipment in serviceable conditionEnsure the assigned work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards to personnel and aircraftFollow all FAA and OSHA safety regulations and precautions (hearing/eye protection, chemical use, engine/propeller hazards, fall protection, etc.)Keep safety-of-flight in the forefront at all times; work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentPrior avionics and aircraft maintenance experience required3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics with the ability to demonstrate proficiencyStrong knowledge of aircraft electrical and electronic systems, including digital avionics equipment; ability to inspect and install digital avionics equipmentExperience reading and interpreting avionics/electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire identification, harness fabrication, cables, fittings, circuits, and connectors; experience with wiring harness fabrication, connectors, circuits, and troubleshootingAbility to use diagnostic and testing equipment for electrical/electronic systems; thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposesAbility to work quickly, efficiently, and safely while ensuring quality workmanship with high precision and minimum tolerancesMust be safety-conscious and able to work in a constant state of alertness in a team environmentPhysical requirements: regularly required to stand; use hands/fingers to handle or feel, talk or hear, good visual abilities; often required to sit, climb, balance, and work in close quarters; able to lift or help lift up to 50 pounds when requiredMust be able to read, write, and understand English proficiently to read manuals, schematics, and technical information Preferred QualificationsFAA Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License preferredFCC 2nd Class License preferred but not requiredExperience with turboprop aircraft preferredBilingual Spanish is a plus Additional InformationPotential domestic and international travel up to 10%Must be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship now and/or in the futureThis is a safety-sensitive position; all FAA compliance requirements must be followedParticipate in on-the-job training as requiredNoise level may be loud at times Sirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer.
