Job Title: Senior Go Developer

Working Location: Hybrid (3 days in office, Wed & Thu required)

A Cardiff-based fintech working in private markets is looking for a senior Go developer to join a small, experienced engineering team. The platform handles large volumes of financial data.

This is a backend-only role focused on a core calculation engine. No frontend work.

What you'll be doing

• Building and optimising financial calculation services in Go

• Processing and reconciling high volumes of capital, positions and holdings data

• Designing for scalability, low latency and long-term reliability

• Contributing to system design and infrastructure decisions alongside a senior team

• Integrating backend services with a PHP Laravel presentation layer

What they're looking for

• Strong commercial Go experience — this is the core requirement

• Experience working in fintech, financial services or similarly data-intensive environments

• Solid understanding of API design, performance tuning and system architecture

• Comfortable owning critical components, not just delivering to a spec

Useful but not essential

• Portfolio management platforms

• Microservices and distributed systems

• Go concurrency patterns

• AWS or GCP

• AI-assisted development
