Design and Technology Teacher Leeds

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Leeds from September 2026 until the end of the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire students and deliver engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons.

 

 

• Teach DT across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to teach a specialism such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics being advantageous.

 

 

• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

 

 

• Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively.

 

 

• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.

 

 

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.

 

 

• Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development.

 

 

• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures within workshops and practical learning environments.

 

 

• Participate in parents’ evenings, staff meetings, and wider school activities as required.

 

Pre-requisites:

 

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

 

 

• Experience teaching Design & Technology within a UK secondary school setting.

 

 

• Strong subject knowledge across the DT curriculum.

 

 

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

 

 

• A current enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

 

 

 

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
