Site Engineer - Civils
Location: Bedfordshire
Contract Type: Contract
Salary: £290 - £400 per day DOE
The client is delivering long-term, high-value infrastructure schemes across the Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire area. We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to oversee major heavy civils works, including deep drainage, large-diameter pipe installation, new roads, supporting the delivery of capital investment projects.
The Role
As Site Engineer you will be the crucial link between technical design and on-site implementation, overseeing construction projects like infrastructure, highways, and buildings. Key responsibilities include setting out, surveying, quality assurance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. They work on-site, providing technical advice to subcontractors and managing daily progress
Key Responsibilities
- Setting Out & Surveying: Using instruments to mark out the site and ensure accurate structural positioning.
- Technical Advice: Interpreting, checking, and explaining plans, drawings, and specifications for contractors.
- Quality Control: Ensuring materials and workmanship meet design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Progress Monitoring: Preparing site reports, tracking progress, and resolving technical problems on site.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Project Management: Coordinating subcontractors, managing materials, and ensuring project schedules are met.
