UniCredit in Poland belongs to one of the largest financial groups in Europe, serving over 15 million Clients, including one million businesses. We are building a new banking model that combines the speed and appeal of a fintech with the strength and stability of a universal bank. We draw on 150 years of experience and the unique expertise of our teams, acting as the Group’s pan-European innovation hub.
We are creating ultra-fast and transparent banking with an “all-in-one” application and new opportunities for all Clients - individual, business, and corporate. We provide full omnichannel service thanks to a network of flagship branches in key Polish cities and our Support Center.
Our greatest value is our People - a Team of creative experts who thrive in a dynamic and innovative environment. We focus on collaboration, engagement, and achieving ambitious goals.
We are looking for a Physical Security Manager to join us at this pivotal moment, share our vision, and help shape the future of European banking. While you will define our strategic direction, this is a highly operational role. We need a "player-coach" who is just as comfortable presenting to Group HQ as they are walking a branch construction site and directly resolving tactical vendor issues. You won't be doing this alone—you will collaborate heavily with Cybersecurity, Real Estate, Legal, and external vendors to ensure our physical perimeter, staff, and infrastructure are robust, compliant, and integrated.
Key Responsibilities1. Branch Expansion & Physical Operations
Security by Design: Lead the physical security rollout for our retail branch expansion, working closely with real estate and contractors to implement alarms, CCTV, and barriers before locations go live. Verify existing controls through inspections and controls.
Asset Governance: Establish and maintain Building, Areas and tangible/intangible Asset Inventory.
Vendor & Site Management: Manage SLAs with external manned guarding and technology or device vendors, acting as the security liaison for local Branch Managers, vendors and building landlords.
2. Cyber-Physical Convergence & Infrastructure
Hardware Lifecycle: Actively manage the physical lifecycle of security hardware (e.g., CCTV, Physical Access Control Systems, Life Safety Systems) and manage modern, identity-integrated visitor protocols at our Warsaw HQ.
IT Convergence: Partner with our CyberSecurity team to ensure physical network locations are protected and that hardware telemetry is effectively exported to our central security monitoring systems.
Corporate & Branch Facility Protocols: Establish and enforce foundational security measures across all locations, including clean desk policies, confidential waste destruction programs, and suspicious mail/package handling.
3. Risk Management, Compliance & Outsourced Governance
Risk Assessments: Execute and document periodic Physical Security Risk Assessments for all locations in alignment with UniCredit Group methodologies, identifying and mitigating residual risks.
Regulatory Alignment: Partner with our Legal and Compliance teams to ensure physical security operations align with banking regulations, GDPR, DORA and upcoming frameworks like NIS2.
Outsourced Cash Governance: Directly monitor and audit the security governance of fully outsourced ATM and cash operations. You will use periodic audits and questionnaires to verify third-party providers meet Group anti-fraud, SLA, and insurance requirements.
4. Personnel Protection, Travel & Life Safety
Emergency Protocols: Develop and enforce robbery, duress, and workplace violence protocols, ensuring branch staff are trained and major incidents are reported to Group Corporate HQ. Respond to physical security incidents and monitor follow-ups.
Executive & Travel Security: Provide travel risk oversight for business travelers/expats (including exfiltration plans for high-risk regions) and coordinate dedicated security measures for Top Management (including during company-organised Events).
Awareness Training: Deliver engaging physical security training to staff on topics such as anti-tailgating, ATM skimming, and branch safety.
Operational Readiness: You are a "doer" who is not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You are highly comfortable executing day-to-day tactical tasks, conducting physical site walk-throughs, and directly managing local issues, rather than just delegating.
Language Requirements: Fluency in Polish and English.
Experience: Proven Corporate/Physical Security Management experience in banking, finance, or a rapidly scaling fintech environment.
Project & Vendor Management: Strong track record in managing physical security during commercial build-outs and effectively governing third-party vendors.
Technical Acumen: Good knowledge of physical security IoT (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection) and comfort working alongside logical security teams in modern IT environments.
Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of local banking/privacy regulations (KNF, UODO/GDPR) with a readiness to adapt to frameworks like NIS2, DORA, and CER.
Crisis Management: Calm under pressure, with the ability to manage local emergencies and navigate corporate reporting structures.
Mobility: Willingness to travel to branch locations across Poland to oversee build-outs and conduct audits.
Diverse teams really are the best teams. Research shows that some candidates may hesitate to apply for a job unless they meet every requirement. If you are excited about working with us, we encourage you to apply - even if you're not 100% sure. We are interested in getting to know you and learning about what you bring to the table.
Please note that we may close a job posting early if we receive a large number of exceptional applications.
Good luck!
