Candidate must have at least 1 year prior experience in the OR, pain and/or GI setting. <b>Holidays</b>: none <b>Weekends</b>: none </font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><font face="Times New Roman"><b>Job Summary:<br /> </b></font></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><font face="Times New Roman">The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, as well as quality performance. </font></font></p><p><b style="font-family:'times new roman';font-size:1.6rem">EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: </b></p><p></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><font face="Times New Roman">A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is required. Is competent in role as a Surgical Technologist and displays advanced knowledge and ability to independently perform roles and tasks related to the field of surgical technology. Anticipates surgeons' needs and is acknowledged by staff as advanced in field. Ability to first assist is preferred.</font></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><font face="Times New Roman"><b>EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: </b></font></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><font face="Times New Roman">High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required. </font></font></p><p></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><font face="Times New Roman"><b>LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: </b></font></font></p><p><font face="Times New Roman"><font face="Times New Roman">American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
