About the Role
As a Brain Injury ID Card Volunteer, you will support the distribution of our award winning Brain Injury Identity Cards, which assist with the identification of brain injury survivors who come into contact with the law and provide survivors with added confidence in everyday social scenarios.
The cards offer a simple solution to a difficult conversation and can make a real difference in helping people live independent lives and play an active role in their communities.
This role sits within Headway’s Justice Programme, which aims to raise awareness of the significant number of people in the justice system with an acquired brain injury (ABI) and their resultant needs. It advocates for change in policy and practice to ensure brain injury survivors receive appropriate support within the justice system, and it provides opportunities for individuals with an ABI to access support in relation to their experiences with the justice system.
