Abatec are recruiting on behalf of a well-established supplier of construction equipment and material handling machinery, supporting customers across the construction, waste, and articultural sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Mobile Fitter / Yardman to join their team based at their Avonmouth depot.
This is primarily a workshop-based role, with occasional local field service work using a company van. The role would suit someone with mechanical or plant maintenance experience who enjoys working with heavy machinery in a varied and hands-on position.
Hours and Rates of pay
- Monday to Friday 7:00am – 6:00pm
- From 40K per hour DOE
- Based at the Avonmouth HQ
- Own transport required
Key Responsibilities
- Washing and preparing machines
- General yard duties
- Operating a forklift (training can be provided)
- Carrying out servicing and routine maintenance
- Machine repairs and fault finding
- Investigate equipment issues
- Carrying out engine, transmission, and hydraulic repairs
- Occasional local field service work
About you
- Experience in plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or HGV mechanics
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
- Comfortable using diagnostic software and laptops
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, and transmissions
- Forklift experience beneficial (training available)
- Reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team
