Job Description
To support individuals in accessing their social care records through Subject Access Requests (SARs), ensuring compliance with data protection legislation. The role also promotes participation by helping service users understand their rights and engage with their personal information in a clear, supportive, and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities Process Subject Access Requests in line with data protection laws, including UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018Liaise with social care teams to gather, review, and prepare records for disclosureRedact sensitive or third-party information appropriately before releaseMaintain accurate records of requests, actions taken, and deadlinesCommunicate with applicants to clarify requests and provide updatesSupport service users in understanding their records where requiredEnsure confidentiality and secure handling of all personal dataWork within statutory timeframes and escalate risks or delaysContribute to service improvements and good practice in participation and transparencyRequirements Experience working in social care, administration, or a related settingBasic understanding of data protection principles, including UK GDPRStrong organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriatelyGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCompetent in IT systems and record managementAdditional Information Hours per week: 37 hoursPayment: Bi-weeklyLocation: Office-based / hybrid (depending on service needs)Is this job a match or a miss?
