About the Role
We’re working with a beautifully designed, recently opened gastropub in the charming market town of Hitchin. With a strong focus on seasonal British produce and ambitious plans to achieve Rosettes, they’re now looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to support their small, skilled kitchen team.

£36,000 per annum plus circa £6,000 service charge
Live-in accommodation available for around £600 per month
Set days off – Monday and Tuesday
Open from Wednesday dinner to Sunday lunch
Fresh, seasonal cooking with high-quality ingredients
Joining a tight-knit team of 3 in a supportive environment
Pushing towards earning prestigious Rosettes
Responsibilities as a Junior Sous Chef…
Collaborating with and supporting the team in daily service and prep
Assisting with menu development and creative seasonal specials
Maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency
Taking responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of senior chefs
Mentoring junior staff and helping them develop their skills
