KS1 Teaching Assistant Leeds

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the LS6 area of Leeds from September 2026. This full-time role offers an ongoing opportunity, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will support pupils within Key Stage 1, helping to deliver engaging learning experiences and ensuring children continue to make strong progress in their early years of education.

The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, positive relationships, and high-quality teaching. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where children feel supported to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. The leadership team is approachable and supportive, ensuring all staff feel valued and equipped to make a positive impact on pupils’ development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support KS1 pupils with learning activities within the classroom, in small groups, and on a 1:1 basis.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource management.
• Support the delivery of phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence throughout the school day.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally within KS1.
• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of phonics and early learning principles would be advantageous.
