This is a high-responsibility role where attention to detail, urgency, and strong communication skills are essential. <h3>Key Responsibilities</h3> <ul> <li>Process export and customs documentation within strict operational deadlines</li> <li>Prepare transport documentation and manifests for scheduled freight departures</li> <li>Ensure all customs clearances are completed accurately to avoid delays</li> <li>Liaise with customs authorities, operational teams, and customers to resolve issues efficiently</li> <li>Complete safety and security declarations in line with current regulations</li> <li>Support AWB and manifest creation for international shipments</li> <li>Maintain accurate reporting and transactional records</li> <li>Identify opportunities to improve customs processes and operational efficiency</li> </ul> <h2>What We’re Looking For</h2> <h3>Experience & Knowledge</h3> <ul> <li>Minimum 2 years’ experience in customs, import/export, or freight forwarding</li> <li>Exposure to air freight and/or road freight operations</li> <li>Strong understanding of UK customs regulations and compliance procedures</li> <li>Experience using HMRC systems including CDS and CHIEF</li> <li>Relevant customs or international trade qualifications would be advantageous</li> </ul> <h3>Skills & Attributes</h3> <ul> <li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy</li> <li>Strong organisational and prioritisation skills</li> <li>Ability to work effectively under pressure in a time-sensitive operation</li> <li>Confident communicator with a proactive mindset</li> <li>Good IT skills, including Excel and customs systems</li> <li>Commercial awareness and understanding of operational impact</li> </ul> <h2>Working Hours</h2> <ul> <li>Full-time, 40 hours per week</li> <li>Rotating shifts across a 24-hour operation (Monday-Saturday)</li> <li>Flexibility required as part of a 2-week shift rota</li> </ul> <h2>Why Apply?</h2> This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing logistics business with a strong reputation for operational excellence, innovation, and employee retention.
