JOB CLASSES

The State of Alaska's Job Class Specifications are service specific. You may see multiple listings with the same class title. The class code, which is located under the class title on the class specification, designates the service. The letters used to identify the various services are: P - Executive Branch, Classified or Partially Exempt Service X - Executive Branch, Exempt Service M - Executive Branch, Alaska Marine Highway System L - Legislative Branch C - Alaska Court System (Judicial Branch) R - Alaska Railroad Corporation Additionally, job classes with the Legislative Branch, Alaska Court System, Alaska Railroad, and Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education are noted in the job class titles as follows: Railroad - (Alaska Railroad) Court System - (Alaska Court System) Legislative Branch - (Legislature) Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education - (ACPE) If you are interested in a job classification that is not currently being recruited for, fill out our new online job interest card by clicking on the class specification title and then on the 'Subscribe' link.
