(PK9205)</strong></p><p><strong>MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER / MECHANICAL FITTER</strong></p><p><strong>SOUTH EAST / ESSEX</strong></p><p><strong>EXPECTED WEEKLY HOURS: 54 HOURS</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Monday -Thursday: 06:00 - 17:00 (10.5hrs/day; 42hrs total) </strong></li><li><strong>Friday: 06:00 - 13:30 (7hrs) </strong></li><li><strong>Saturday: 06:00 - 11:00 (5hrs)</strong></li></ul><p><strong>CORE HOURS: 38 HOURS/WEEK, PAID AT &#163;15.40/HR</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Monday - Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00 </strong></li><li><strong>Friday: 06:00 - 13:30</strong></li></ul><p><strong>OVERTIME: Any hours worked above the 38 core hours are paid at time-and-a-half </strong></p><ul><li><strong>Total expected overtime per week: 16 hours</strong></li></ul><p><strong>ANNUAL SALARY ESTIMATE:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Full expected schedule including overtime: &#163;49,650</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Candidates should be aware that the role expects 54 hours per week, with overtime incorporated into the pay structure.</strong></p><p>Our client is an independent manufacturer of bespoke cardboard tubes and cores producing millions of tubes annually, ranging from small diameters to large custom sizes, serving a wide range of sectors from industrial packaging, postal tubes, display/film props and carpet cores.</p><p>They are currently looking for a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter to join their team. This will be a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer with a solid mechanical background to play a key role within a busy fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain and repair production machinery to ensure optimal performance</li><li>Diagnose faults and carry out effective mechanical repairs</li><li>Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime</li><li>Set up machinery for production runs</li><li>Replace and fit components including bearings, belts, chains, and motors</li><li>Respond promptly to breakdowns and restore production as quickly as possible</li><li>Support ongoing machinery improvements and upgrades</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Background in paper, packaging or cardboard manufacturing (Preferred)</li><li>Knowledge of pneumatics and/or hydraulics (Preferred)</li><li>Multi-skilled Maintenance Experience (Preferred)</li><li>Proven experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment</li><li>Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills</li><li>Experience working with gearboxes, motors and conveyor systems</li><li>Hands-on capability to strip, repair and rebuild machinery</li><li>Ability to work independently and effectively troubleshoot issues</li></ul>
