Mental Health Worker – SEMH Setting in LittlehamptonLittlehampton, West Sussex

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Mental Health Worker to join a specialist SEMH setting in Littlehampton, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role involves working in a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment to help students access learning, regulate emotions, and develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students in the classroom and around the school
Provide consistent 1:1 and small group support
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
Promote engagement, independence, and learning
Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement strategies and interventions
Support behaviour management in a calm and consistent manner
Promote emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour, and social development
Follow all safeguarding procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours (or willingness to learn)
A patient, calm, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
An understanding of behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
A proactive and reliable attitude
A genuine passion for supporting mental health and additional needs
