About the Role
Job Description: The Director of Platform Solutions and Emerging Tech Strategy defines and advances next‑generation colocation solutions aligned to emerging customer needs—such as GPU‑dense workloads, AI/HPC deployments, liquid cooling, hybrid cloud, and data protection services. This role converts market trends and customer use cases into deployable solution architectures, sales enablement materials, and forward‑looking data center design requirements. It acts as a strategic bridge across Product Management, Engineering, Design & Construction, and Sales to ensure Flexential’s data centers and solutions support the workloads of the future. As both a player and a coach, you will shape the experience of building on the FlexAnywhere platform and simplify adoption of services. You will serve as the cross‑functional champion for platform use‑case development—aligning product, sales, solution engineering, and marketing to create use cases that demonstrate the value of building on Flexential’s digital infrastructure and ecosystem. Key Responsibilities: Emerging Technology & Market Leadership Monitor and assess emerging trends in colocation, including GPUs, AI/ML workloads, liquid cooling (direct-to-chip, immersion), high-density power, and interconnection-driven architectures. Engage with customers, hyperscalers, OEMs, and technology partners to understand evolving workload requirements. Serve as a subject matter expert on next-generation infrastructure deployments. Solution Definition & Architecture Define end-to-end solution frameworks and designs (Platform Centric Designs) combining: Colocation (air- and liquid-cooled) Interconnection Marketplace Destination Cloud / Data Protection Services Develop repeatable solution blueprints, reference architectures, and use-case narratives tailored to specific customer segments. Ensure solutions are scalable, commercially viable, and operationally feasible. Product & Data Center Strategy Input Translate solution requirements into clear inputs for: Data center design standards Engineering specifications Construction and capacity planning Partner with the Colocation Product Manager to inform future facility capabilities without overlapping current-site product ownership. Influence long-term platform and capital planning decisions. Go-to-Market & Sales Enablement Equip Account Executives and Solution Engineers with: Value-driven messaging Use-case-based selling tools Technical solution narratives tied to customer outcomes Support strategic customer engagements where emerging technology expertise is required. Collaborate with Marketing on thought leadership and solution positioning. Cross-Functional Leadership Act as a connective layer across Product, Engineering, Sales, Alliances, and Operations. Align with the Director of Interconnection and Manager of Alliances & Ecosystem to incorporate ecosystem partners and destinations into solution designs. Work with Product Operations to standardize best practices and documentation for solution development. Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in data centers, colocation, cloud infrastructure, or related technology fields. Strong understanding of: GPU and AI/HPC workloads Data center cooling and power architectures Interconnection and hybrid cloud models Proven experience translating technical concepts into customer-facing solutions. Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority. Comfortable engaging with senior customers, partners, and internal executives. Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $180,000 - $240,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
