About the Role
About the role: Justteachers is seeking a full-time SEMH Teacher to join an alternative provision setting starting in September 2026 in the Northallerton area to cover on an interim, short-term supply basis. This supportive and structured setting works with pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health needs, focusing on re-engagement with education, personal development, and building positive futures. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging, adapted lessons tailored to pupils within an SEMH/AP setting Support students with challenging behaviour using effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies Collaborate with support staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to support pupils’ academic and emotional progress Pre-requisites: Relevant teaching qualifications (e.g. QTS or equivalent) Proven experience teaching within SEMH, alternative provision, or supporting pupils with challenging behaviour Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies, trauma-informed practice, and inclusive teaching approaches Two education or school-based references
