Position Overview
This role will assist with the preparation of Burlington’s income tax provision, federal and state returns, review fixed asset tax ledgers, and prepare monthly tax journal entries.
A Day In The Life
Prepare and review various components of the tax provision and ensure that all income tax related accounts are recorded accurately and in accordance with FASB and tax-related SEC disclosure guidance
Assist with preparation of federal tax return and state tax returns
Assist in reviewing federal and state fixed asset tax ledgers, estimating quarterly CapEx depreciation, and preparing Forms 4562 and 4797.
Prepare the tax inventory calculation, which includes computing UNICAP and the tax cost complement.
Assist with the preparation of monthly tax entries
Conduct tax research and support planning efforts to minimize tax
Respond to notices, conducts research and ensures accuracy of all income tax notices. This includes researching issues, conducting reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and providing explanations.
You'll Come With
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
0 -2 plus years of relevant experience
Ability to professionally communicate to all levels of the organization as well as external vendors both orally and in writing
Detail oriented with demonstrated problem solving skills
Must be comfortable with and willing to proactively take responsibility and ownership of deadlines
Ability to learn tax software
Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize various projects
Superior analytic skills; excellent communication skills
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel with emphasis on vlookup and sumif functions
Strong interpersonal skills; good relationship building skills
