This is a part-time position consisting of two full school days per week. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator who enjoys working with elementary and middle school students and is committed to fostering a love of music through engaging instruction.

Position Overview

Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic School, a Preschool through Grade 8 Catholic school in Philadelphia's Chinatown, is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and faith-filled Music Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of music while supporting the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of each student in accordance with the mission of Catholic education and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Part-Time Position Details
● Position Type: Part-Time
● Schedule: Two (2) full school days per week during the academic year
● Additional Commitment: Occasional attendance at evening or weekend concerts, school liturgies, performances, faculty meetings, and other special events as scheduled.
● Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
● Provide engaging music instruction to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
● Develop and implement standards-based music lessons that include vocal music, music appreciation, rhythm, notation, movement, and basic instrumental instruction.
● Prepare students for school liturgies, concerts, Christmas and spring performances, school play, graduations, and other special events.
● Collaborate with faculty and administration to integrate music into school programs and celebrations.
● Direct and develop the school choir and other music enrichment opportunities as appropriate.
● Create a positive, organized, and respectful classroom environment that encourages creativity and participation.
● Assess student progress and communicate effectively with families regarding student achievement.
● Maintain music classroom resources, instruments, and instructional materials.
● Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
● Support and uphold the philosophy, mission, and policies of Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic School and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Qualifications

Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field (required).
● Pennsylvania teaching certification in Music Education (preferred) or eligibility to obtain certification.
● Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
● Knowledge of vocal and instrumental instruction.
● Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, faculty, and parish staff.
● A commitment to fostering a faith-filled learning environment consistent with Catholic values. Practicing Catholics are encouraged to apply.
