About the Role
The accountant will work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager and Financial Controller to ensure accurate, timely and informative monthly reporting for STATSports Group Limited and its subsidiaries. There will be great focus on process improvement, and ensuring financial controls are appropriate, with an opportunity to learn and upskill with Power BI.
This role will be based in Newry, Co. Down, Northern Ireland.
What you’ll do
Responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts including:
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Monthly P&L reviews and variance analysis
Preparation of monthly consolidation accounts pack
Oversee timely preparation of UK and subsidiary management accounts
Completing VAT, OSS and other statutory returns
Review of margin across contracts
Statutory audit preparation of schedules and supporting documentation required by auditors
Monthly P&L review and variance analysis against budget
Support with ad hoc projects and ability to improve finance processes
Support function for general accounting queries with the finance team

About you
You’ll need to have
At least 1 years PQE Qualified accountant with membership of a professional body, e.g. ACA/ACCA/CIMA
Proficient in the use of MS Office, especially Excel
Demonstrate experience of applying technical accounting knowledge to transactions (e.g. revenue recognition criteria)
Attention to detail and the ability to work with other team members to meet necessary reporting deadlines
Can explain finance data to non-finance stakeholders
It would be great if you had
Experience with ERP Accounts Packages, ideally in Microsoft Navision
Experience with cost accounting
Experience with group accounts and consolidations
Experience with Power Query and Power BI
High level of accuracy & excellent attention to detail
Good problem-solving skills and general accountancy acumen
