Role Overview

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join the Children & Family Services (CFS) First Response Team on a part-time basis. This is a high-impact role working within the front door service, providing rapid response to safeguarding concerns and protecting vulnerable children.

This agency opportunity is ideal for social workers seeking a flexible part-time position while making a real difference to children and families in Leicestershire.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to child protection referrals and safeguarding concerns
• Conduct assessments and investigations to determine risk and support needs
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
• Prepare high-quality reports and documentation for internal review and legal purposes
• Provide direct social work interventions, including child and family support plans
• Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and supervision to ensure statutory compliance
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records

Essential Requirements

• Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years' post-qualifying experience in children's services
• Social Work England registration
• Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and statutory frameworks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
