Secondary Teaching Assistant - Preston

About the role:
Justteachers is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant,  who is looking for a long term role in a secondary school in the Preston area on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in September 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.

Key Skills and Attributes:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND across KS3 and KS4
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual EHCP targets
• Support pupils with literacy, numeracy and communication needs
• Implement behaviour support plans and intervention strategies
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Promote independence and positive engagement in lessons
• Support pupils during transitions between classes and activities
• Assist with personal, social and emotional development
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and progress
• Work closely with teachers, SENDCo and external professionals

Pre-requisites:

• Previous UK secondary school experience
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
