About the Role

Confidential Client – Publicly Traded, Industry Leader Duration: Contract ~ 4 Months Setting/Location: 100% on Site | Great River, NY 11739 Compensation: $25-30/hr PRIMARY PURPOSE The Operations Spill Coordinator I initiates and assists in the coordination of emergency response requests for NRC during oil spills, drills, emergency responses as well as tracks NRC resources, including personnel and recording vessel movements.  The Operations Spill Coordinator I responds to client requests, escalates as necessary and provides timely follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Assist in management of small to large scale emergency responses, industrial spills, highway accident cleanups, and complex emergencies involving natural disasters, fires, civil disturbances, hazardous materials, chemicals and other pollutants. Work consists of various administrative and dispatch duties. Provide accurate and timely cost estimates throughout a response. Manage response activities of NRC’s response centers and subcontractors.  Uses internal software to initiate, track and manage responses while using multiple databases. Responsible for reaching out to management for situations in which procedure has not been established. During emergency operations, responsible for prioritizing appropriate actions. Keep track of all company operations personnel and contact numbers.  Notify appropriate personnel with response tasks and information. Use latitude and longitude to determine ETA’s and locations. Interact with clients and customers in a professional and timely manner. Maintain accurate documented records of company operations (i.e., daily logs, operations summaries, case logs). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required.  Must be able to work 12 hour shifts with the flexibility to work nights and/or weekends. Must be able to type 30 WPM minimum. Must be able to work independently and with a team and be comfortable with sitting for long periods of time.  2+ years’ experience in emergency dispatch or field-level environmental emergency response. Â
