About the Role
On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Assistant Management Accountant for a 6 month contract based in Glasgow , Motherwell or Perth 2 days a week in the office with possible travel to any of those sites.

As an Assistant Management Accountant at Network Rail, you will support the delivery of comprehensive financial and management accounting services across the Scotland Maintenance delivery areas. Your role will contribute to financial reporting, forecasting, governance, and operational decision‑making
As an Assistant Management Accountant, your main responsibilities will be:
Support the provision of consolidated results for business plans, periodic results, and forecasts.
Working alongside the Senior Finance Business partner and Finance Business Partners within the Network Rail Maintenance Delivery Unit teams for Scotland.
Assist in analysing periodic financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
Prepare and distribute financial reports to budget holders to aid financial control and performance management.
Assist in delivering investment and project accounting services.
Promote awareness of financial and corporate governance standards and support compliance.
Support timely payment of creditors.
Work collaboratively with the finance team to deliver high‑quality financial and management accounting services.
Essential:
Knowledge of current accounting standards.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Good reporting skills
Proactive
Working towards an Accounting Qualification
Desirable:
Experience in a management accounting role.
Experience with financial management systems (e.g., Oracle).
