About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our secondary school team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential and thrive both academically and personally.

Working closely with teachers and the SEND team, you will provide classroom support and targeted intervention to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to create an inclusive, engaging and positive learning environment.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students' learning in lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning and raise attainment.
  • Provide additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and resource development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote student engagement.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and carers.
  • Support students' emotional wellbeing and personal development.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with secondary-aged students or young people.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is patient, adaptable and committed to inclusion.
  • Can build positive and professional relationships with students.
  • Is confident working independently and as part of a team.
  • Has a good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Has experience supporting students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs (desirable).
