About the role:
A supportive and inclusive SEND school in Louth is seeking a passionate and committed SEND Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September.
The school provides a highly personalised curriculum designed to meet the diverse needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, focusing on academic development, communication, independence, and emotional wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to create a structured, engaging, and nurturing learning environment, ensuring every pupil can reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated, inclusive lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
- Adapt teaching approaches to ensure all learners can access and engage with the curriculum, using a range of strategies and resources.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, using data to inform planning and next steps.
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals to provide consistent and effective support for pupils.
- Implement EHCP targets and contribute to reviews, ensuring provision is tailored and impactful.
- Use a variety of approaches, including visual supports, structured routines, and interactive activities, to enhance learning.
- Foster strong relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence, independence, and personal development.
Pre-requisites:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a specialist or inclusive setting.
- Strong understanding of differentiation and adaptive teaching strategies.
- Ability to create an engaging, supportive, and structured learning environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
