Sidel is looking for a Field Services Engineer that performs Installation, start-up, commissioning and test of the Sidel Equipment supplied to customer sites with specialization on Automation. The candidate must perform technical assistance during and after the warranty period, carry out training and other after sales services of Sidel`s equipment installed at customer sites. Develop a good understanding of the customer needs to provide objective advice and to ensure customer satisfaction.

As an Automation Expert Technician, you play a key role in providing technical support and ensuring the performance of Filler & Blow molding machines and their associated equipment. You are involved in installation, qualification, start-up, and service phases, and you ensure that the equipment operates correctly in line with the performance levels defined in the contracts.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting and technical support: Provide troubleshooting support for Combi machines and associated equipment, and assist technicians during machine start-up and acceptance phases.
  • Installation and qualification: Participate in the installation, validation, and qualification of machine upgrades and prototypes, applying installation, qualification, and maintenance methods.
  • Documentation and analysis: Provide technical documentation, perform analyses, and share your knowledge to enable engineering departments and regional support teams to develop corrective actions and improvements.
  • Performance monitoring: Ensure that machines achieve contractual performance levels and monitor the application of maintenance and analysis procedures.
  • On-call duty participation: Actively contribute to on-call support during weekends and public holidays to support machines in operation.
  • Coaching and knowledge transfer: Supervise and support junior technicians, transmit best practices, and share your technical expertise.
  • Education: Technical diploma in Electronics or Automation; a degree in Electronic/Automation Engineering is a plus.
  • Experience: You have highly specialized knowledge of Fillers & Blow molding machines, particularly in aseptic environments.
  • PLC Programming: You have a solid understanding of PLC programs (Siemens,TIA Portal, B&R) as well as electrical schematics. You are able to effectively use problem-solving tools and methods to define appropriate action plans.
  • Mobility: High flexibility and willingness to travel (up to 90% of the time, internationally).
  • Leadership & Decision‑Making: You demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to unite teams, and sound decision-making in demanding technical environments.
  • Language : Fluency in English/German (additional languages are an advantage), which is essential to work in an international environment, with occasional travel to customer sites where your professionalism and communication skills will make the difference.
