About the Role
About the role: We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Early Years Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly mainstream primary school in Nelson from September 2026 . This is a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing long-term supply basis , supporting pupils within the Early Years setting and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. This welcoming school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, strong community values and commitment to providing children with the best possible start to their educational journey. Key Responsibilities: Support the class teacher in delivering engaging Early Years learning activities. Work with individual pupils and small groups to promote learning and development. Encourage children’s social, emotional and communication skills through play-based learning. Assist with observations, assessments and the preparation of learning resources. Maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for all children. Pre-requisites: Relevant qualifications, including a Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent. Proven experience of working within an Early Years setting, preferably in a primary school. Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and child development.
